Staff Benda Bilili

"Musical May" (as I have decided to call it after a five gigs all in a week or two) continued today with a gig in Bury St Edmunds by Staf Benda Bilili.

They are an inspirational group. Most are handicapped after suffering from polio. They all used to live on the street (in the grounds of Kinshasa zoo apparently). They charge around on customised tricycles and play home made one stringed instruments made from tin cans. And they sound awesome. They play really groovy, heartfelt music with gusto.

And despite being in wheelchairs they can still dance better than me!
