After the fire

I have the choice of two routes on my way home from work: one through Sandhurst, and one along the Crowthorne bypass. A couple of weeks ago the Crowthorne bypass was closed because of forest fires. I finally went that way home today, and stopped off to take some pictures of the forest. Although the earth is black, green shoots are already beginning to push through. Amazing how nature can bounce back, and not surprising that ferns have managed to survive for so many million years.
