Doves
I've borrowed Gary's camera today to try and take some photos of the 2 little collared doves who have hatched in the tiny nest in the tree in our garden, previously blipped here.
They are just about ready to fledge I think, I watched them standing up in the nest and stretching their wings out this afternoon. It's been amazing to see - the nest was so small and flimsy looking we weren't confident that the eggs would survive never mind the chicks.
Mum has been hanging around keeping an eye on them although she's not in the nest much now as far as I can see.
Very happy that we persevered with putting out bird food in our garden, seemed to take ages before the birds started to come but now we're mobbed and they are eating so much we're having to buy the huge tubs of fat balls for them.
Hope you've guessed the song choice - I went to see this singer in Sheffield when I worked there, he's underrated in my view, weird but very creative. See if you agree here.
I've also backblipped here.
