Fisherman

One of my favourite images of Cambodia is that of the fishermen. It has rained a bit and the rivers are starting to fill up and flow and the men start to fish again. I love this culture that is dependent on the seasons.In the dry season fruit and vegetables are grown on the fertile damp river banks and in the wet season it's fishing. There were several men on this stretch of river squatting in that wonderful way that Asian people do in their skinny boats casting nets in an ageless fashion. They make it look so easy but I bet it isn't!There were also people washing themselves and their clothes and children playing in this stretch of river. It may not be a beautiful river but it is truly a river of life
