In the horticultural world , art is the application of science. Yes we need the science to put numbers to things and assess what really is the result of this management practice. But it is the common mistake to think that science holds the answers. Innovation, true innovation as in redesigning a system., that does not tend to come from science , it comes from growers. But the scientists are helpful when it comes to convince those that really have no understanding of the system.
