Terra Cotta Decoration

This wonderful terra cotta arcade is on the third story of Chester
Court, a distinctly upscale apartment building on West 89th Street in New York City. Friends of ours happen to live there.

Designed by Emery Roth, the building is 14 stories high, of brick and stone, and dates from the 1920s. The residents have made significant efforts to maintain and enhance its heritage, and the web site tells a great deal about its history and features. It's worth viewing large.
