Tempus fugit
The atmosphere is rather heavy this afternoon, the sky is overcast and I am feeling the full moon. I seemed to have been sidetracked and my energy drained.
As you might imagine this didn't augur well for blipping. Helena asked me to drive some of her students up the hill to Brimscombe, and this gave us the opportunity to drive home along the ancient single-track Bagpath Lane, which follows the contours halfway up the side of the Golden Valley. It was beautiful, quiet and provided interesting views back to our home. It was the only way along the valley in days of yore before the turnpike was built along the bottom of the valley parallel to the river, canal and eventually the railway. Unfortunately it was also rush hour, with severalo cars and then a tractor trailing a horse-box requiring me to reverse a long way to find space to pass.
But the shots I took with my 50mm really didn't do the landscape justice, so I will try those views again another day, when the light shines beneficially on us.
At home, I have noticed that we now have five different cactus plants each in differing stages of flowering. This cactus plant out in the cabin was my subject a week ago, when it flowered for the first time, but I thought it is worth blipping again. You can see several more ripening buds in this picture (I can see five), and there are many more on the far side. You can also observe the last stages of flowering shown in the four flowers which are grouped together, each of which only opens for about two days, before withering away again. The most withered flower shown here was the one in full bloom HERE.
I like the sense of process and time in this one shot. It is about the best I can offer today.
