Thumb Wars

The blip photo is of probably my favorite kids meal toy ever due to the sheer humor of it. Thanks to Taco Bell...we now how a "thumb war set" complete with 2 capes for your thumbs and a cardboard fighting arena. It looks very Nacho Libre style. Those two little hands battling it out to see who would win were Landon and Liam. Landon had never heard of thumb wars before, so he thought it was so funny.

Today consisted of Liam's early morning baseball game. His best friend Cody joined us since he was sleeping over. Gary left early this morning for the annual window washing fundraiser (for the Mexico Mission Trip) with the Youth Group. So it was just me and the boys. Then after the game (and Landon's practice), I took Loren to Angela's BD party. Angela's mom invited the whole family, but Loren wasn't having it. "Mom, my brothers embarrass me." I decided to give him his space, which is increasing in importance to him, and left with his brothers and Cody. Loren was looking forward to hanging out with friends and they had blocked of the cul-de-sac with cones so that they could do go-carting. I'll have to admit that I can understand what Loren is talking about with the embarrassment issue. Landon is going through this phase where he wants to entertain everyone, including Loren's friends at baseball and at school. Landon will randomly break out in dance and bizarre faces to get a laugh out of just about anyone. I find it amusing (most of the time)....but Loren just finds it embarrassing.
