Roadtrip Day 4: Totaranui, Abel Tasman
Bluesheep monkey in coastal cave, Totaranui, Abel Tasman
We woke up to grey skies in Abel Tasman, and it remained that way (but dry) for the rest of the day. We didn't get the proper experience of the golden sand and clear green water that we might have had, but we enjoyed it as much as we could. Had a great trail run in the morning down part of the coastal track, and then spent the rest of the day relaxing on the beach and exploring the rocks around the coast during low tide. Found some nice little caves and rock formations.
Our camp stove that we brought had a gas leak so we couldn't use it (of course it had to fail out in the middle of nowhere rather than a nice holiday park with a kitchen!). Fortunately we were able to build a good fire and cook on that for dinner.
Heavy rain predicted for tomorrow, so we just prayed it would hold off until we could pack up our tent tomorrow morning.
