Another place where I can't play!
I am a cross collie today. For my afternoon walk I went to Hayle Estuary. I've been there loads of times in the last 6 years and I usually have a great time chasing rabbits & birds, swimming and digging holes in the little bit of beach there. Ann parks at the South Quay and we walk round the 'pool' before walking down to the point between Porth Kidney Sands and Hayle Towans. It takes us about an hour and it's a lovely walk.
Today we got half way round the 'pool' when we spotted signs (behind me in this blip) saying that dogs were forbidden on this land at all times. Just when did these pop up? Admitedly we haven't been here for a while but now that the doggie summer beach ban is in operation this is one of the places I go regularly in the summer.
It would seem that the RSPB reserve at Lelant Saltings (which is part of Hayle Estuary) has expanded onto our walking area. We often see lots & lots of twitchers with binoculars looking towards the Saltings for rare birds but we've never seen loads of them on the bit where we walk. Also we started our walk at the South Quay and we're pretty certain there wasn't any signs there - so just where am I not allowed to go?
Ann says she will do some investigating for me. However, it seems to me that I'm being banned from more and more places.
I'm a energetic collie and Ann likes to take me for at least one walk every day where I can run around off my lead for an hour or so.
My life would be very boring if all my walks were on my lead.
