Caladh

This plaque is in our solid shelter at the guide campsite. Every time we are there I have a wee think about those poor guides.

Money was raised to build a memorial bench or something like that, but so much was raised that the solid shelter was built. Now it provides a warm place for hundreds of guides each year.

The campsite itself and some of the buildings have gaelic names. This one is Caladh, which means harbour or shelter. It always amuses me that all the guides just accept without question that a building has a name, and always refer to it by name.

A good weekend was had by all, 50 guides were happy, and my role as first aider was easy.
