83 Years Young

Today is Mickey's 83rd Birthday!

Since I've been sick all weekend I figured this would be a quick photo to share with some interesting information along with it.

Hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow.

On May 15, Mickey Mouse turns 83 years old. The Disney mainstay was first portrayed in the animated short ?Plane Crazy.? In ?Plane Crazy,? Mickey is a bit of a rogue ? far from his wholesome image today ? and is very much like Walt Disney's own Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, which he co-created with Ub Iwerks for Universal Studios. In 2006, the rights to Oswald were acquired by The Walt Disney Company from NBC Universal as part of a deal that sent sportscaster Al Michaels from Disney?s ABC and ESPN to NBC Sports. If it weren?t for Oswald, Michaels wouldn?t be calling NFL games for NBC. That?s a lucky rabbit indeed..
