They don't build them like this anymore....

This weekend I'd planned to take my niece and nephew out for an adventure on the river and canal in the canoe.

However, events from earlier in the week meant that there was no chance of lifting or even paddling canoes. So today mrsEG gave me a lift down to the river and I took Peggy for a walk around the section of the Soar and Grand Union Canal we hoped to paddle, to scope it out for suitability for the young uns'

The picture is of the conveyor bridge over the river near Mountsorrel, built in 1860.

Finished the walk with a couple of pints of Tiger in the pub with A & K.
