Gilles Street Markets

It was time to hit the Gilles Street Markets this morning with a friend. We had heard great things about these markets and the website boasted them as a rival for Sydney's Paddington Markets and the famous Portobello Rd Markets in Notting Hill.

Having been to the buzzing Portobello Rd Markets while visiting London i can safely say that today's markets did not even come close - the website designers may have ben a little creative with this description.

Regardless of this S and i had a fabulous time! We set about selecting the most hideous outfit suggestions we could find - i was very disappointed S didn't take up my suggestion of a stunning brown woolen jumper with a giant sheep embroidered on the front - can't understand why really...

Our adventures concluded at the food stalls which are by far the best spot in the markets. Delicious smells of home made goodies wafted through the air. Unable to resist we found a table to enjoy a coffee and brownie while hearing about each others recent travel exploits.

Sunnier weather would have been nice but a lovely morning all the same.
