Bluebell Heaven
is the best tonic for a weary mind.
I'd heard about the Bluebell wood at Ballathie Estate from Karen
I had intended to visit it this morning with her but a 'social diary' clash meant that I had to postpone my visit until later in the day.
Mr G, Claire and I took a picnic with as and followed Karen's instructions to get there.
I can only say that it's just stunning, the best kind of woodland walk anyone could wish for. The woodland floor was carpeted with bluebells and ferns and trees were all native species to Scotland. The perfume of the bluebells and the birdsong was uplifting. We sat in a sunny secluded spot near a bird watching hide, just soaking in the sun, sights and sounds.
Apparently I wasn't the only Blipper to visit the bluebells today either as I've blip-snapped with Beauty today. And like Breagha, Rocket and Radar were also enjoying the therapeutic benefits of the walk. Unlike Breagha, they can't stay still long enough to pose for a photo, unless they are exhausted that is.
I'm not sure why the trees in my photo seem to be lilac, maybe the light and the reflections from the bluebells?
I'm finally making use of my blipfolio and have added some more bluebell pictures.
