Clachtoll
This is my brother, Peter. I wonder what he is thinking.
We came here as a family, mum, dad and the four of us for all of our chlidhood summer holidays. CLachtoll is a place with white sand, the bluest sea and the most wonderful local people.
My brother and his family brought me here as a special birthday treat for me. We are now in our late forties!!
I took this picture because I so clearly recall as a child looking over to the sandy cove with Stac Pollaidh in the background. It fills me with happiness being here.
On the very last part of our journey here, we drive up the long and winding road from the Lochinver turn off. We pass a wee wooden box at the side of the road and start counting to 100. As we reach the peak of the hill, we also reach ....A HUNDRED... and then we all burst into tears for before us is the most beautful view - Clachtoll and the Split Rock.
I am crying now - tears of days gone by, happy times and such love..
