Samson the Lion of God

An annual community project here in Harties! Almost the same group of people who did the play 'A new day has come' last year, did all the hard work to bring us this play 'Samson the Lion of God' this year! All profits are donated to 'Kuierkidz Learning Centre for Brain injured Children' in Meerhof, Hartbeespoort!

This year's play was based on the original Bible story about Samson, and the music of Queen, Freddie Mercury, and some real strong South African songs! Absolutely brilliantly adapted to compliment the story! Great stuff!!

About René (In her own words):

I'm a writer (screenplays, plays, musicals and books), mother of a brain-injured child, now 18. (See blog: www.Kuierkidz.blogspot.com) Which means I have to be more creative than other people in order to survive this life! I''m also an ex-journalist and puppet master. My musicals (community theater) has a modern day theme/music real. Mamma Mia, a child is born (love story - Mary and Joseph; and: Joseph and his amazing blue suede shoes; and A new day has come, a Passionplay). I write and co-direct the plays. I've written and staged the fourth in the last two years. I have written a medieval teenage adventure novel, Wee Monk's Tale, the Secret of Immortality and its screenplay. Just waiting for Pierce Brosnan or Mel Gibson to pick it up and make the movie in Ireland! ;-o
