Assembly Line

We missed assembly today, to take a coach to Halewood, where some truly delightful people introduced us to the robots and humans who make their splendid vehicles.
It was fascinating to watch the robots in action. We all had comments to make afterwards, from the children who wanted to give them names, to me who had to admit that I wouldn't care to spend a night in the bodyshop when all the humans had gone home!
I have never before been inside a modern factory and found it a real eye-opener. I was struck by the efficiency, cleanliness, vast size and safety procedures of the assembly-line operation, and the good nature, friendliness and pride of the work-force.
Then, as an added treat, they let 28 children (and a few adults!) climb all around this brand new Evoque, a car not even in production yet.

Thankyou Jaguar Land Rover. You have given us a great start to our 'Enterprise Week', which starts next week.
