A serious beak

Green Woodpecker, spent about 20 minutes aerating our lawn this morning in its search for ants.
Only having a 300mm lens (unlike Brickmaker) I had to do a fair amount of cropping, but he (or she?) is a majestic bird and so welcome in the garden.
We sometimes see its cousin, the greater spotted woodpecker, on the nut feeder.

Spent the day sorting out the plumbing on the shower pump so we don't draw air into the pump and get f*rty showers. Only been like it for 3 years - still now it's done.

Off to a musical evening with a lady with a huge mandobass........
