The little red squirrels that inhabit this area are not too many peoples favorite. They are shifty and fast and can really do some damage. To some, they are not even cute.

As birds go...the mourning dove is not high on those lists, either. I love their coo-coo-coo, but people see them as bottom-feeders and for not being overly bright.

This tiny battle at the O.K. seed corral was interesting to watch. The dove held her ground, raising her wings to shoo off the little red. I thought the squirrel would out-fox her, but after a couple of minutes...just gave up and left.

A minute after the squirrel left...an even tinier chipmunk approached. I thought for sure the dove would do the same thing to the little munk, but she let him get into the tray and stuff away. Maybe an old friendship, or maybe like a lot of pepole...she just does'nt like red squirrels. "STAY AWAY FROM MY SEEDS...YOU FILTHY VARMIT!!!

A nice paddle today with my friend Shelley. 2 kayak trips in two days. 85 degrees and sunny, and my arms are tired.
