The Art Police

I found out that Brancusi is actually pronounced Br'nkoosh. We visited his birthplace, a tiny wooden cabin in Hobi?a. It's still a peasant village but with about 90% unemployment unfortunately. The whole family (parents and seven kids) slept in one bed, not much bigger than mine. He wanted to study in Paris, so walked all the way from Romania. All his sculptures in Turgu Jiu have a policeman stood nearby: the one on duty here dutifully recorded our visit in his notebook.
