Spring Light

A wonderful weather today! Very bright light, a little wind and the smell of earth and new grass.
This morning I heard the returning cranes for the second time this year - surely a sign of spring!
When I was a kid, my parents left a window open in my bed room at this time of the year, and in the morning when I woke up, there was a small gift under my pillow. They said it was left there by the cranes.
Lying in my bed at night, listening for the sound of the big birds, excited and unable to sleep is a strong childhood memory! I still love the sound!
