Shyness
Today I joined in in a groupsession where we discussed behavioral patterns where thoughts come along too and they do bother us too much at times, so we analysed how this evolves and how we can manage a control so to change the patterns. One of the items we discussed was about the theme Shame and we discovered that we actually do not need to feel shame over our decisions(s) as we back up our choice of decision with regards. We do not need the approval of the other(s) altho' that may be welcome, but we're not in need of that! Ok that is a more steady look upon ourselves, myself for today.
And walking up and down the living in thoughts I noticed my little Orang Malu man on the shelves and rubbed his back out of habit. Orang Malu means the Shy Man he sits as a yogi as a Boddhitsatva. His curved posure and the hiding his face in his hands speak of shame over the world's evil and over sad and bad events - however his posure also expresses power and kindness and rebirth and love. It is said that Orang Malu is to protect us from evil and bad sad things in life. Ok perhaps, ever since life in Indonesia my parents have an Orang Malu in their house and I have a small one since a growing number of years.
Todays discussion of Shame and Surrender was helpful and Orang Malu with its need to reflect and come closer to oneself reminds me clearly of this inner selfreflection and the new growth that may come forth from that
