About 4 months ago, the construction work on our new school wing was completed but our school couldn't afford to decorate the new rooms and equip them as they wanted. The promise of the school's first dedicated English classroom has stayed behind plastic sheeting since then.

Suddenly, 2 weeks ago, a squadron of Grade 6s hungry for an ice cream reward were mobilised and were lugging tables and chairs, and heaving boxes of Junior Scrabbles, dice and spinners upstairs. A few days later, the punier and less hard bargaining Grade 5 were dragging up the library books for some sweets. Yesterday, the English Teachers were heaving our flashcards and stationery downstairs.

The English room was officially opened today and looks splendid and equip it they really did. When I first started at this school we didn't even have ink in our printer, but today we had our training on the new......drumroll..... 5 foot TOUCH SCREEN TV. It boggles my brain.
