Huh?

What could possibly be going through this lizard's tiny brain?

I love having butterflies in my garden & monarchs are so easy to lure. I always have milkweed growing. Milkweed is the favorite food & nesting plant of the monarch. First they strip my plants of all the leaves, then spin their cocoons. After a bit they hatch & I have more butterflies. If I'm really lucky I get to watch them hatch.

Each year I take photos of the first caterpillars I spot. That's what I started off to do today, and truth, I did get some much better shots of these and other caterpillars this morning. But for some reason I just loved this shot of this cute little lizard contemplating these interlopers into his usually serene world.

NB There are two caterpillars in this photo...they just look one one really large one.
