Learning Curve

Ok so my NEW PC finally got fixed & I finally installed photoshop, so I am now able to learn all this new jazz & in this pic I got my wee lasso tool out and did some layers... all noob stuff yes? Well it was the first time I tried it & I just used a fliter for the background theres some really weird ones but since it was the evening & nothing really interesting in the background I thought this one worked ok.
