Through the Gate

The film "Departures" is about a young man in Japan who has had a short career playing cello in an orchestra; he takes a job from an ad that describes working with Departures. The reference is travel to the next world and the work is in preparation of the body. It is a beautiful film, and in onc scene an elderly gentleman describes death as a gateway to another life.

I so love gates and tunnels and bridges and entryways; I have always been interested in this connection between what is now and known and what is next and unknown to include possibly nothing.
