This is the 450th anniversary of a little altercation here in Soller when a gang of maurauding Moors attempted to sack the town and cart off all the women. It failed and ever since, Soller has celebrated its victory over those pesky Turks (probably - no-one´s quite sure, now) by throwing a massive party along with a re-enactment of the invasion and subsequent ousting of the Moors with their tails between their legs.

Its one of the most spectacular things I´ve ever seen, as well as the loudest. Well, actually, I think a Motorhead gig in 1984 was probably louder. But you get the point.
