Gays & Christians*

So, every now and then (twice a year, to be accurate) I hang out for a weekend with some very old and very dear friends. Well, not all of them are that old, but one of them's got a birthday this year with a 0 at the end of it...

We used to be in a orchestra and singers thing as teenagers, and still enjoy each others' company deep into our thirties, which is amazing, excellent, life-affirming and generally very very nice.

This weekend we are in Tynemouth, and my fellow blipper Mrs Morris (who got me into all of this craziness) and I decided to do a co-blip (hers is here). The eagle-eyed and awake amongst you will notice that we're sitting in front of the castle at Tynemouth. Please try not to notice the carbuncle that is the former coastguard station on the right. No, don't look. I told you not to, but you just wouldn't listen, would you? Tsk.

Anyway, a splendid weekend was had by all, despite migraines, general illness, the lack of aubergines in Tynemouth and incidents with salt mills. Really, it's a dangerous place - only essential travel is recommended.

* The title is referring to the way we used to divide ourselves for playing games - we used to be roughly 50/50 gays and christians. but now the lines are a little blurred, and it's less easy to balance the teams.
