Going up in the world

We have stayed many times at this Oban hotel, but never in the room we had this time. Ours was a huge room, located centrally on the top floor, with the row of five windows. Inside was a four-poster bed, and the views across Oban Bay were superb.

We have had four-posters before, and they have not always been very comfortable, but this one certainly was. Amazingly, we were told that this was not even a 'premium' room, but one of the 'standard' doubles. Excellent value.
