Beautiful drive

Every year in May this drive up to a cottage in our village erupts into beautiful colours as aquilegias, evening primrose and many other plants come into flower. I watch it gradually develop as the months go by until it reaches this wonderful crescendo in this wonderful time of year. Just five months ago it was buried under a carpet of snow.

For the record: 19C, sunny periods and we actually had quite a lot of rain during the night. The first appreciable amount for two months. You could almost hear the gardens sighing with relief!
