Cartie Racing Trophies

The sport of Gravity Racing seems to be gradually getting more popular here in the North East of Scotland.

This morning it was the turn of our neighbouring village, Kemnay, to stage what we think is its first-ever Cartie Rally.

The weather as unfortunate: after weeks of warm, sunny weather, the last couple of days have been overcast and damp, whilst this morning in Kemnay the rally took place in an absolute downpour! Everyone seemed to enjoy the occasion nevertheless.

This is a photograph of the trophies being carried across for the Awards Ceremony at the end of the event (around lunchtime). The stars on the left are for the overall winners in each of the four age categories. The polythene 'ziplock' bags contain the medals for those coming second and third in each category; whilst the amusing figures on the right are special awards for 'the most colourful cartie' and the like.
