Strange melted snow

This morning we had some snow outside. It wasn't much, but enough to make de road treacherous slippery.
This was right in front of my house (around 8 am) and none of it was swept away, nor touched by anyone. As you can see, the sun was not able to melt the snow away like this.
I think there must have been some heated cables or pipes under the pavement, otherwise I cannot explain this.
