We Will Remember Them

This is the new monument on Memorial Drive to the fallen in war, though it is a bit reminiscent of scenes in "2001 Space Odessey".

Memorial Drive was so named after WWI and stretches several miles from East to west right across Calgary. It has over the last two years had some work done to it and this monument is one of the recently completed projects. There are more to be unveiled.

I am quite impressed with this one: located on the North bank of the Bow river, it is understated and elegant.

The copper colour is in fact rust, clearly part of the intended colour scheme.
