national lifeboat day

The Dutch lifeguards are not government subsidized. They try to get more members/sponsors by this lifeboat day. All sponsors get a free ride, and if you're not a sponsor they ask you to become one on the spot.

Early up this morning for a bike ride to Paal 8 with a quick stop for a coffee and a cranberry juice at the bessenschuur. The weather was great and my dad and arjen kapped and I took some shots from the ground :) We took my parent's boat and anchored close to the harbour for some photo's of the lifeboats.

Thanks to islanderwoman the lifeboat spotted us and we got a look from very close by!!

After that Arjen took the koegelwieck back and we picked up some food and John from the Tiger. We had diner on the back of the boat in the sun and I had my first swim this year in the schuitengat! :)
