One Baby
Today Baby was 1. This is a significant mile stone in not only his life but ours also. I think we can, without any shadow of a doubt say this has been the hardest year of our lives. We have not had a lot of sleep and at times had our sanity pushed to its limits, especially in those first six weeks or so when if he was not asleep he was screaming. I can honestly say I have never know anyone so determined not to sleep as he has been. To put this into context over the last 365 days we have had 1 full nights sleep.
Don't get me wrong there have been some good bits too. It has been nice to watch Toddler take on the responsibility of being big sister and enjoying it. Watching both her and Baby interact has been very rewarding, they love each other very much. Baby has really become a little boy over the year and is now really into balls and cars. He is getting hard to keep up with, now that he is on the move, keeps interfering with the cat food and has a smile that can break even the coldest of hearts.
It is hard to imagine that a whole year has passed since he entered the world like an expensive water feature blowing amniotic fluid out of his nostrils on to the midwife.
As for today he got lots of lovely presents which he liked a lot (and toddler liked opening) and typically his favorite gift was the 99p ball we got him from the cheapy shop down the road.
So here's to the next year, lets hope it gets a little easier. Thank you to Wife for getting through the last 12 months and well done on doing such a good job in creating such wonderful children. They may not be sleepers but they are smart, fun and very heart warming.
Happy Birthday Son!
