Trillium Tribute
The forest I frequently walk in is teeming with trilliums and when I pause to admire them, I always think of my mom. When I was a little girl, she told me it was illegal to pick trilliums and if I did they wouldn't grow back for seven years! I never knew if she just didn't want me to pick them or it was an old wife's tale, but I never tested her for fear of landing in jail or having to wait years for new blooms! So, on this Mother's Day weekend, I hope she's looking down on me from above. Mom, I didn't pick any, I just took a picture! I always listened to you! RIP!
