Flying to Los Angeles

I spent the morning packing our bags.
We then caught the X26 bus to Heathrow (non-stop from Teddington).
The flight to L.A. was eleven hours.
After picking up our bags we went straight to the Alamo rent a car. The kids pointed out that the guy in the queue behind me was an actor in 'The Sarah jane Adventures which they watch a lot). They had a little chat with him.
The car that I'd pre-booked was a seven seater but there were none available (what is the pint of pre-booking?)
Instead, we ended up with a huge 8 seater. The sat nav was playing up and we kept going round in circles trying to find the hotel. Sue and I couldn't stop laughing.
We eventually found it. There were about five car park places but the car was too big to fit into any of them !
