Apple Pie

Having just eaten our way through a never ending mountain of home grown courgettes (I can still hear the children groaning!) We now move on to the apples. They are cookers and already I am imagining pot-roast pork with apple and leek, apple and cinnamon clafoutis, warm apple and pecan cake, apple crumble, tarte tatin, spiced apple pie with a cheddar crust... Rowan didn't seem convinced as she looked at the apples on the tree and decided that I would just end up stewing them. I think her less than warm memories of the courgettes has clouded her vision.
