Or even slower if we're talking about electoral change in the UK if, as is expected, the 'No to AV' campaign wins through. I love the fact that some on the No campaign have been declaring that AV isn't that good, and not full Proportional Representation as if, they imply, they would vote for PR instead of First Past the Post if it were on the table (I doubt it somehow); and also that most of those in the No campaign are the ones who managed to get the referendum limited to nought but a rather limited form of proportionality versus the status quo.

Basically they're saying "don't vote for a new system that isn't perfect that we guaranteed wouldn't be perfect so that we could keep the current self-interest laden system". Pah.

The thing is, by voting 'No' now how long will it take before we have the opportunity again to have PR? Because you just know that those who are saying 'vote no because AV isn't proportional' will then say that the people of the country voted against ANY proportionality.

Cynicism? Nah, just politics.

What's really funny is that Labour, the Tories, and the Lib Dems all vote in their leader using AV. And if the Tories had used First Past the Post to decide on their leader last time round then Mr Call-Me-Dave Cameron would not be the current leader.

But the ability to vote isn't just a democratic 'right', it's a democratic 'duty'. Even when it's raining.

In other news Chris Hoy rubbed in the fact that I couldn't go to the Q&A session he was having at work by having lunch in the Executive Dining Room on our small floor. Pah x 2.
