A Grand Day Out
Today, after work my older son, my niece and I went to Prestbury Park, Cheltenham, the Mecca of National Hunt racing, for the Hunter Chase evening meeting.
This image clearly depicts the evolutionary differences between horses and humans. The knee of both are at the same level in the image, but the horse's hoof is the equivlant of one of our finger/toe nails, the others having been lost or greatly reduced in the depths of time.
So what you see here as the front leg of the horse is the equivalent of our hand, and the hind leg corresponds to our foot.
Super racing.
Fantastic weather,
Great company,
Two Highlights:
1. Miss G Andrews won on the invincible mare, Mid Div and Creep, by 34 lengths.
2. I met Hugh, whom I haven't seen for 12 years. We didn't have time to catch up on all of that time, but I will not let him disappear again.
