First Macro of the Year
Well, I've been threatening it for weeks, but tonight I finally broke out the macro lens again. It's sat waiting it's turn again patiently and it can now look forward to a good few months of constant use. With the flowers and insects now more plentiful, the trusty Sigma 105mm EX Macro will get plenty of use. Macro was actually my first photographic interest, not landscapes which seem to have taken over so it's nice to return to it once in a while. While fiddly, it' so much easier to get to grips with, no filters, no mucking about, only decisions to make are the aperture and whether to use the ring flash or not. Macro is all about the composition. Composing a tiny scene is what it's all about. Pointless just looking at the flower and taking the shot, the bugs eye view is always the best so here's to muddy knees for the summer!
