A new day dawns....

Inside his head.

Today has been a day of mixed emotions. First I arrived to school to hear very bad news about a lovely young colleague. 27 years old, mother of a 1 year old girl. Bowel cancer. Advanced stages. Discovered yesterday. Devastating.

I then recieved a message that my son didn't have school for the rest of the week because his teachers's mother was sick. That's how the system works hear. Unbelievable. I called my husband to let him know. He subsequently told me he was at the hospital with our eldest son. Last night he'd shown us a lump on the base of his head that was tender to the touch. After showing it to a GP it was recommended that he had an MRI scan just to be sure it was nothing serious. My boss told me to go straight to the hospital. I was naturally very worried. Thankfully, when I arrived it was all over and the result was, from a brain surgeon, the lump was nothing to worry about. So obviously that was a great relief.

My thoughts are with my sweet colleague and her family at this horrendous time. To make things worse big things such as this cannot be handled in Bodrum so she will now have to go to Istanbul for treatment.

Positive thoughts, prayers etc etc from around the world will be welcomed.
