royal tulip

took a short recovery walk in the neighborhood... i am finally feeling a tad bit better... and spotted this little tulip...

i've given it the name of "royal" only because it's red and gold; appears quite majestic to me. is it royal? i don't know... to me a flower is a flower is a flower... like a bird is a bird is a bird... (i was thrilled i knew yesterday's bird was a robin!) so for today, i rather like the name of royal. it works since it has withstood freezing rain, snow, cold temps, winds and frosts that it shouldn't have had to endure in the springtime yet in spite of it - is still standing: straight, tall, beautiful, bold - very royal, indeed...
