For several years I have been assessing options for our office. Rent vs Buy. It's been a challenging decision, rents seem so high and in NZ the tenant pays for pretty much everything. But buying has many drawbacks too as the market is typically controlled by a limited number of developers, and so they stitch the price. Yes, a good "free" market system. Like many aspects of the free market (in my opinion) it's really only "free" for those people with loads of extra cash, so in reality the free market is far from it ...

Anyway, today we were introduced to 2 companies who have some land and need a third partner to build an office. It's in a good location and the price seems pretty good and we'd be able to custom design our space. I am reasonably interested.

We'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks; if it goes ahead this would almost be our view ...
