BBQ

back-blipped

We went to a BBQ today at Louise, Lewis and Rose's today. We went round there at 2 and the girls had a play whilst we sat outside and left the men to prepare the feast. By the time we were ready to start cooking the grumpy girls (who were both in a bit of a funny mood) had fallen over coutless times and worked out how to get past our garden baricades (to prevent them from getting into certain parts of the garden). It was fun anyway and when the food was ready we let them have some. Amelie ate a little bit of homemade burger, some cous cous (although she preferred to rub it and sprinkle it from a great height), bits of nice pork and apple sausages, pitta and rolls. They had been snacking all afternoon so didn't need much more than that. Louise and I then took the girls (who were shivering by this point, oops!) upstairs for a bath. It was the BEST BATHTIME EVER!! They were really playing with each other; Amelie giving Rose toys to put in her mouth which Rose found hilarious and Rose pretending to wash Amelie. It was so funny. And then one of them started splashing and that was it, the extreme splashing began making Rose giggle like mad. Even Amelie, much more serious, managed a laugh. In the end we were soaked too and they had hiccups from laughing. We stayed for a little while after that but not too long as Amelie was exhausted. She fell asleep without a dummy in the car on our way home and we managed to carry her in and transfer her to her cot without waking her up.
