"Is that a sky shot?"
This morning not very long after dawn I was driving along and saw the cloudy sky start get clear and get a bit more interesting. So I pulled over into the parking lot of a little industrial park I was passing and followed the road to around behind the buildings where I could get a clearer line of sight to the rising sun.
When I parked and got my camera out I realised that the bottom of my shot would be a chainlink fence... not really what I was looking for so I walked into the middle of the parking lot/loading area. I was looking up taking a few shots when a guy walked up behind me.
"Is that a sky shot?"
"Yeah" I replied "The sun rays peeking down like that make a good photo, but you have to get in quick because it only lasts a few minutes"
He looked at me a bit puzzled. Then he gazed up at the sky for a few moments.
"Yeah... it does look kinda beautiful."
I often see people looking puzzled when you point a camera at apparently nothing in public but people dont usually walk over and asks why. Pulling over the car to take a photo of the car sounds strange to normal people I guess. It does amaze me at times that people dont see the beauty of the clouds and the sky. Perhaps some really dont find it beautiful... it seems some people do if they actually look.
