Rebreather Experience

Hardly had any time today for taking photos. This was my early birthday present from B, a Rebreather Experience day with Barry White! The "Experience" day is the first day of the mod 1 rebreather training course. B is taking the full course so we did day one together.

I had a really great day. We did loads of theory on rebreathers, took one apart and put it back together, then went for a dive in Lyness Harbour. Barry took us in one at a time for this first dive, this is Barry jumping in for B's first dive.

It was an amazing experience! Very, very different to scuba diving. After lunch we did a second dive, with training drills, of the wrecks of the F2 and barge. Cyclops came in with us on this dive and took some photos and video so I've got a permanent memento of the day.

Very tempted to take this further but will need to do a lot of saving up! Thanks B, it was a terrific birthday pressie :)
