Comforting Old Tins
I heard some very sad news today. I was in the middle of various jobs and tasks. But all stopped after a while, to make some bread. Time to reflect.
I had some old tins in the larder, which I used to make 'Toy Bread' for the children in.
I have not used them for about 14 years. But suddenly it seemed the best idea in the world.
I had some freshly sprouted wheat grain at hand, so sprinkled them on top, with some herbs.
It is so long since I have made bread that I have not caught up with all the fashionable extras which are added now.
The bread is now rising. I am listening to a rerun of Start the Week, which is questioning our selves, evil, and empathy. I will get back to my tinting when the bread is baked.
It has clouded over a bit outside. The air has chilled. It will be good to sit and eat this bread with some chunky cheddar later; up by the Aga it was baked in.
