Horseshoe Lake

Well my car finally got fixed and I was able to head home this afternoon.

I had thoughts of all sorts of photos I could take on the way home but it rained the whole way, and after a week away (and being a day late) I really just wanted to get home, so I only stopped for this photo.

This is the west arm of Horseshoe Lake. The lake swings around to the left behind the trees and makes a true horseshoe shape. This lake always looks deep and mysterious and the water is always really dark, no matter what time of year - though it was certainly helped today by the totally grey and depressing weather. The completely grey sky is evidence of that.

The little black dot in the middle of the lake is a duck. I bet he was cold because the outside temperature was about 8 deg Celsius, and I'll bet the water was a lot colder than that!
